SUMMARY

Objective of this VHV work was to operate activities and projects of holistic community health management at Baan Moo 4, Tambon Tepa, Tepa district, Songkla province, between 2009 and 2014. It was shown that formation of community organizing center to assess situation, exercise club, and prototype club to change health behaviors, had been done. Activities of sport games for unity purpose and youth training course based on Islamic concept, had been arranged within the village. Several projects such as life quality development for insurgency’s victims, and family’s beloved net to support local culture, had been also carried out. In addition, projects of Romadon to support collaborating capability among state officials, VHVs and communities (2009-2013), family beloved net against addicts (2009-2013), and village of changing health behaviors (2011-2013), had been achieved successfully. The highlight project of using strategic route map (SRM) to be applied in Tambon health plan in 1013, lead to the out-coming of 2 other projects in 2014, project of supporting health promotion to prevent and control chronic diseases, and the project of preventing addicts. Most villagers whom have been suffered from violating incidences, have gotten their chance to improve health and life quality.

SITUATION AND SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROBLEM

The area of Tambon Tepa, Tepa district, Songkla province, has been stated as an insurgency area for several years, affecting to villagers’ security and life quality. This has also altered to working life styles of village health volunteers (VHVs), and state officials. The author as a VHV and local Islamic leader, took pity on villagers and all these victims, which then initiated an inspiration to operate holistic community health management to support and help them. This aimed to improve health and life quality of villagers and victims.

FRAMEWORK(S) /SCOPE

This work was operated following the framework of holistic community health management at Tambon Tepa, Tepa district, Songkla province, between 2009 and 2014.

OBJECTIVE(S)

To imply activities and projects of holistic community health management for better health and life quality toward villagers and victims.

PROCEDURE

Operation Plan ; Planning was held collaboratively among VHV teams, community leaders, local Islamic leaders, health care officers from Tambon Tepa health promoting hospital, and officers from Tambon Tepa legislative authority.

Action ; The author displayed himself as a projects’ leader, and a key organizer to collaborate with other local authorities and sectors.

ASSESSMENT

Assessment Criteria The assessment had been arranged following real activities occurred within the community, and responses from VHVs teams, villagers, community leaders, and relates.

Out-Puts
