SUMMARY

Objective of this VHVs work was to conduct the frameworks of sufficiency economy, village of health management, and strengthened community, to be implemented, achieving for sustainable community health promotion at Siwarattana community, Tambon Om Noi, Kratum Ban district, Samut Sakorn province, between 2005 and 2014. It was shown that the community’s health care service center and health club, had been formed, which be handled by VHVs responsibility. Seven groups of villagers, pregnant and postpartum women, childhood and pre-school child, children, adolescents, over 35-year-old women, adults of 40-60 year old, and over 70-year-old elders, had been categorized and assigned to be educated in health care, participated in exercise, used folk know-how implementation in health, and collaborated in local culture activities. Projects and activities to support health promotion such as consumer protection in health, mental care, environmental sanitation, preventing and controlling transmitted diseases, how to decline all devices, and adolescent health care, had been performed continuously. Villagers whom be risked for diabetic mellitus, obesity and hypertension, had been screened. Abnormal cases found, had been handled and counseled for further medical treatments, if necessary. Handicrafts, and unable-to-exercise villagers, got their chance to take exercising by physiotherapist’s advice, in which had been invited from Kratum Ban hospital. Elder club had been formed to arrange its helpful activities. In addition, 3 psychiatric patients in the community, had been handled consistently. In conclusion, villagers took their opportunity via the sustainable community health promotion, to improve their health and life quality at all.

SITUATION AND SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROBLEM

The community of Siwarattana, Tambon Om Noi, Kratum Ban district, Samut Sakorn province, was newly formed which had been transformed from housing development project. Villagers had usually unsecured from asset and life security problems, and no health care service within the community. The author devoted herself as an organizer to deal Om Noi metropolitan authority, and owner of the housing development project, to set up street lamps. In 2005, the health care service was formed in the community, providing first aids, and counselling in health care to villagers. The author deserved herself as a village health volunteer (VHV) since 2001, to carry out several health care projects and activities with satisfied out-comes toward villagers’ health and life quality. This successfulness inspired the author to initiate a further sustainable community health promotion project, based on the frameworks of sufficiency economy, village of health management, and strengthened community. It purposed to generate successful out-comes on villagers’ health and life quality.

FRAMEWORK(S) /SCOPE

To operate projects and health care activities of following the frameworks of sufficiency economy, village of health management, and strengthened community, within the community of Siwarattana, Tambon Om Noi, Kratum Ban district, Samut Sakorn province, during 2005-1014.

OBJECTIVE(S)

To carry out works of sustainable community health promotion, aiming to improve villagers’ health and life quality at Siwarattana community, Tambon Om Noi, Kratum Ban district, Samut Sakorn province.

PROCEDURE

Planning Planning was done following community’s committee with support and collaboration from Kratum Ban hospital and Om Noi metropolitan authority.


ASSESSMENT

Effective service out-puts from the community’s primary health care center, as well as useful out-comes to villagers of other projects and activities, were used to be assessed.

Out-Puts
• Community’s health care service center and health club, had been formed, which be handled by VHVs responsibility.

FACTORS EFFECTING ITS SUCCESSFULNESS
